The Nature Study Society of Bangladesh (NSSB) was established on August 30, 1996 for the collection and circulation of the facts and knowledge about Nature and Natural resources. It stemmed out from the senior members of Notre Dame Nature Study Club to work in the total country and world wide with the same aims and objectives in extended aspects. The aims and objectives of the society are -

Objectives
1. To collect and circulate facts and knowledge about Nature and Natural resources and their proper conservation.
2. To launch Socio-economic and research oriented projects to identify, conserve and preserve the
    extinct / vulnerable Flora and Fauna as well as to maintain a pollution free environment in
    Bangladesh.
3. To propagate the spirit of Nature Conservation among the Public all over the Globe with a
    special emphasis to Bangladesh.
4. To build a mental bondage among the general mass, nature oriented clubs
    and society members, through active operations, co-operation, motivation,
    and friendship as well as training programs.
5. To work as a monitoring group to help support and develop the nature study
    clubs, societies or allied organizations.
6. To make the understanding of Nature conservation easier to people in a more relevant way for
    practicing in their day-to-day life.

    The NSSB aims in opening new Nature Clubs or organization throughout the country to increase its Nature oriented survey operations, conservation programs, mass motivation programs and Human Resource Development (HRD) programs. Trainings are concerned with - Field works and Data management, Club Management, Photography, Publication and Nature Journalism. The Society aims for trainings and motivation programs to encourage both the employment facilities as well as personnel skills of the country. The trained members and personnel can come forward for the sake of Nature and its proper conservation in the long run.
    The employment to the jobless, skill development of public etc. will trail our country towards self-sufficiency only through Nature oriented concerns. All those efforts will ultimately lead us in establishing the human, children or animal rights, as well as the rehabilitation of the landless people, helpless orphans and distressed woman etc.
